Ability to "star" commits

I'd like to star commits for later cherry picking.

Yeah, some mechanism to help a widely forked repo figure out which commit are useful common commits, and which are just one guy scratching his own itch would be great. A star is useful. Adding "commit 1234xad has been starred by xyz" to the newsfeed would be useful too.
