RFC: Allow wiki storage in repo (aka wiki versioning)
Reported by the daniel | April 2nd, 2008 @ 08:54 AM
I would love versioning in the wiki, and the ability to edit it as a collection of files rather than use an awkward web interface or firefox extension.
Maybe the easiest way to that is to let users store a set of wiki-formatted textfiles in a magically-named directory at the top level of the master branch of their repository, like github-wiki etc. and have the repository's wiki be represented by that if it is available. Of course, you'd need to manage commits and merges for changes from the web interface, or disable the web wiki interface entirely.
I'm just floating this idea, It needs refinement (or perhaps even rejection). If a ticket isn't the best place to do this, I'm sorry - this seemed like the only venue for such a request.

Would love this feature too, or even a way on the wiki to import textile files from a specific folder etc.
