Network graph sometimes draws on top of itself

Sometimes the network graph draws what should be multiple rows on the same row, so it overlaps. I've attached an image demonstrating the problem.

Just to note, the real network graph actually shows another instance of this same issue, on the green branch. It's overlapping two different branches on the same row.

This is a tricky problem, but I have some ideas for how to show overlapping merges. The priority of this, however, is lower than optimizing the graph to work for very large repos.
