Some repos are too large to generate a tarball

I am getting 'This repo is too large to generate a tarball. Please file a bug report.' So that's what I do. I hit this error at http://github.com/rails/rails/ta... while trying to download rails master.

Arbitrarily large tarball downloads are on the roadmap.
