Improve twitter message layout
Reported by Mike McKay | July 10th, 2008 @ 07:10 PM
I love receiving the git commit twitter messages on my phone, but they always start with a URL and I have to scroll down to see what the actual commit was about.
It would be great if the commit message was at the top and the URL at the bottom (or not included at all).
Maybe the URLs could be tinyurls - this would maximize use of precious screen space on my phone.

I'd prefer leaving the url first in case twitter truncates the message because the commits message is too long. Hopefully the is.gd is a fair compromise.

Your assumption is that the normal twitter usecase user will prefer URLs to messages. This could be true, but for me I like tweets because I get them on my phone. Getting urls on my phone is not very useful. If I want URLs I want them in an RSS feed or in IRC. be.gd mostly solves this problem.
