Source Editor

It'd be awesome, though nowhere near necessary, if we could edit the README from a project page (if logged in of course). Then the changes would be committed when we clicked save.

It would be cool, but ultimately we don't want to start down the road of duplicating functionality that is just as easy to do locally. Our goal is to focus on making our collaboration features as awesome as possible and leave the editing of code up to your local text editor. =)

yeah I can see why this would be very complex. however, it would be very awesome to be able to edit files in the repo from the web gui.and branch and commit them there. I would consider this a very long ways down the line feature.
Think about it though.. in a way this would be another way to make git portable to all operating systems.
I hope you'll reconsider putting this on the longterm todo list.

I'm also sitting here thinking what if I'm no where near one of my machines and the solution to a bug hits me. If I'm near a computer w/ internet this would allow me to quickly add something. be it notes or an actual patch.

It's not out of the question once we figure out the best way to write from the web app to git. But yeah, down the line.
