    As a random data point, it seems like the the original "grit" repository (from which badcarl's was forked) is broken, as well:

    $ git clone git://github.com/mojombo/grit.git

    Initialized empty Git repository in /Users/asf/Desktop/grit/.git/

    remote: Total 0 (delta 0), reused 0 (delta 0)

    remote: aborting due to possible repository corruption on the remote side.

    error: waitpid (async) failed

    fatal: error in sideband demultiplexer

    fetch-pack from 'git://github.com/mojombo/grit.git' failed.

    In case you didn't know, I had already forked it months ago. I haven't made any changes, so nothing is lost if you just want to delete the repo.

    I saw this yesterday when forking exception_logger. I deleted the fork and tried again and thing worked the 2nd time around.
