Linking to new page creates bad URL

If a wiki page does not exist when an internal link is made, the link is incorrect.
Example:
[[Features and Flaws – v1.0]]
If the page exists, a link to .../wikis/features-and-flaws-v10 is made. if the page does NOT exist, a link to .../wikis/new?title=Features is made.
